Iván Giroud

Iván Giroud has presided over the International Festival Internacional del Nuevo Cine Latinoamericano (Havana, Cuba) after having been its artistic director from 1994 to 2010. Director of the Nuevo Cine Latinoamericano journal, he has written two books on cinema: Alfredo Guevara. En el ejercicio de la crítica (Editions Nuevo Cine Latinoamericano, Havana, 2017) and El pretexto de la memoria (Editions Capital Intelectual, Buenos Aires, 2018). Alongside his work in Cuba, Iván Giroud is regularly invited to serve on juries at numerous film festivals, in Europe, Latin America and the United States. He is also one of the founders of the Havana Film Festival in New York (2000) and was the commissioner for the largest Cuban cinema retrospective ever held in the United States.
