Originally from Brussels, actress Natacha Régnier won the Jean Carmet prize for Pascal Bonitzer’s Encore in 1997. She was first revealed to the general public in La Vie rêvée des anges, directed by Eric Zonca, for which she won «Best Actress» at the 1998 Cannes Film Festival, «Best Actress» at the 1998 European Awards» and «Most Promising Actress» at the 1999 César awards.

She has appeared in one film after another, starring in works by both newer and more famous producers. She seems made for roles in very personal settings, like those of Luc Bondy, Eugene Green or Jane Birkin.

She has also worked with Chantal Akerman, Lucas Belvaux, Emmanuel Bourdieu, and Michel Gondry.
She has been directed by Costa Gavras, François Ozon and Anne Fontaine.
She is now appearing in Le fils de Joseph, a film directed by Eugène Green, which was selected at the 2016 Berlin International Film Festival and released on 20 April.
