Born in Asmara, Eritrea. After attending university in Italy, in 1985 he moves to New York and graduates from the New York University Film School. Following a journey to India, he produces and directs his first documentary film, Boatman, screened with success at various international film festivals including the Sundance Film Festival, the Locarno Film Festival and the Toronto International Film Festival.

Thierry Garrel was 20 years old when he started working for the Research Department of the ORTF. He worked for 40 years for Public Television. As Director of Documentaries of La Sept and of Arte France from 1987 to 2008, he spearheaded an ambitious production mission of discovering and fostering new talent, whilst also working with world renowned names in documentary cinema (from Chris Marker to Agnès Varda, Johan van der Keuken, Frederick Wiseman and Alain Cavalier, as well as Chantal Akerman, Rithy Panh, Amos Gitaï or Nicolas Philibert).

Amir Labaki is a Brazilian curator, film critic, filmmaker and playwriter. He is the founder and director of It’s All True —International Documentary Film Festival, the leading and oldest event devoted exclusively to non-ficcional cinema in Latin America. He was the President of the Museum of Image and Sound (MIS) in São Paulo for two terms (1993-1995, 2003-2005 and a member of the board of IDFA – International Documentary Film Festival Amsterdam (2003-2012).

Originally from Brussels, actress Natacha Régnier won the Jean Carmet prize for Pascal Bonitzer’s Encore in 1997. She was first revealed to the general public in La Vie rêvée des anges, directed by Eric Zonca, for which she won «Best Actress» at the 1998 Cannes Film Festival, «Best Actress» at the 1998 European Awards» and «Most Promising Actress» at the 1999 César awards.
